I have Joost invites to give away -- first two people to leave a comment on this blog will get an email with their invite in the next day or so.
Please be sure to enter the email address you want your invite sent to when leaving the comment. It doesn't have to be in the comment itself, just in the comment form -- that way only I'll be able to see it.
Enjoy!
P.S. - Apparently if you have an invite you are an official beta tester, but I was really just looking for their logo when I noticed they are only allowing badges like the one to the left to be used... so "official beta tester" it is!
[Update: all invites have been sent out. I'll be sure to post if more come my way.]

The Pittsburgh Flash Users Group (specifically Ben Pritchard) has posted an informative podcast interview with Colin Moock (author of Essential ActionScript 3.0 from O'Reilly, among others). The podcast does a great job of providing a behind-the-scenes look at the writing of a book, as well as general thoughts from an industry leader on the Flash Platform. If you have also been wondering why the book hasn't hit shelves yet, Colin provides some thoughts on that as well.
Also, as a bonus check out Colin's notes from his upcoming FITC talk, "ActionScript 3.0 and Flash CS3", here:

Mordy Golding, a former Product Manager for Illustrator during the CS and CS2 revs, has posted a new video tour podcast of Illustrator CS3 over on his blog Real World Illustrator. The video does a great job of explaining the new features in a way that even makes sense to non-expert Illustrator users such as myself.
At XPLANE our designers and concept developers use Illustrator almost exclusively, so I've had to become a lot more familiar with the program. With the current CS2 version getting artwork from Illustrator to Flash is a pain, and I spend roughly 15-20% of my time just manhandling graphics before I can even begin to think about ActionScripting.
I can't explain how happy I am to have pre-ordered my copy of the CS3 suite so I can spend my time doing what I do best: code. Flash Developers, we owe Adobe big for this release.

I downloaded the GMF of Fireworks CS3 earlier this week, but finally got around to installing it today. Since this is the "gold" version I thought I'd see if the traditional easter egg in the about window is present, and I was not let down. To see a slideshow of the Fireworks CS3 development team, hold down control and click on the registration mark just above the words "Adobe" or "Fireworks". Nothing fancy, but still cool to know Adobe continued on the tradition... and just in time for Easter weekend!

I was disappointed when I installed Flex Builder and noticed that it had an old Macromedia-style round application icon. It just doesn't look right in my dock. So I was happy to see today that Josh Buhler took some time to create a square CS3-esque icon for Flex Builder. While he states that you'll need a third-party application to use it, I had success by locating the app file in my Applications folder and then changing the icon just like you would for any other OSX item.
You can download the icon from Josh's blog.
